About Me

It was after a personal experience with a back injury that I first experienced massage therapy. I had a terrific Physical Therapist who got me back on my feet primarily with massage.

Years after my recovery, I was thrilled to find the South La. Institute of Massage. However, my massage carreer was almost over before it began the first day I realized I was not only going to learn to give a massage, but I had to receive massage! The only reason I didn't get up and run out was --I was scared stiff and couldn't move!!

It wasn't long, though, before my classmates labeled me the massage hog. I got over my shyness and didn't want to get off the table!! But that experience of being terrified to get a massage has been most valuable to my clients and my practice. Any time I meet a new client, I remember what it was like to be uncomfortable and I am always aware of the importance or respecting and maintaining the modesty and dignity of every client.

And my own experience with pain has also been a gift to my practice. Excruciating pain is bad enough, but the shear terror it can invoke can be torture.Or extremely frustrating when someone has been told,"there's nothing wrong". Then the question becomes "well why does my pelvis feel like its breaking in Half?"
Because I remember that pain, I have gained the skills and knowledge to make a difference where pain is concerned.

God has blessed me greatly and I strive to share those blessings with my clients.
